    Aftercare and control

    When the treatment is completed you will receive a detailed explanation of what was done and our own Active Hair Shampoo, which was designed for the care of transplanted hair. After a while we will contact you to schedule a check-up date so we can asses if the transplanted hairs are growing well. After just a few months the transplanted will start to grow but it will take a full 12 months after the treatment to see the final result. At that time, we invite you again for one last appointment the review the final result and to make sure that we are all satisfied with the result achieved.

    Healing

    The FUE treatment takes about eight hours and in that time a maximum of 1,800 grafts can be transplanted. Because the removal of the hair follicles leaves only very small wounds, the donor area heals very quickly. Within a few days, the implanted grafts will be firmly placed within the skin channels in which they were placed.

    Removing the hair follicles

    On the day of your treatment, the entire treatment has only got attention for you. You will first receive a local anaesthetic in the donor area: the place where the hairs are removed from your head. The donor area is in the hair ring. That is the wreath of hair on the back of the head that is immune to hair loss. Then the surgeon takes the hair follicles (grafts) - consisting of one to four hairs - one by one with a hollow punch from the hair ring.

    The transplant

    The grafts are placed in special growth fluid by our hair technician, which ensures that the hair follicles grow better and faster.  Shortly afterwards, the surgeon will start with the implanting of the grafts. Due to the experience of our surgeons and hair technicians with the FUE technique, the result will look totally natural.

Difference between FUT and FUE

With the FUE method, the grafts are removed one by one from the donor area; while with the FUT method a piece of skin is removed from the donor area. The FUT method is ideally suited for women because the head does not need to shave. Under the microscope the grafts are carefully prepared in hair groups of 1 to 4 hairs and kept in a special growth fluid. After the FUT method a small scar will remain at the back of the head. When the donor area is very limited, the FUT method is a better choice than the FUE method. This will all be assessed during your initial consultation and we will give you a tailor-made advice.
