PRP Treatment

The doctor takes a small amount of blood. Depending on the treatment, this can be one or more tube. The doctor then places the blood in a special centrifuge. The centrifuge ensures that the plasma (PRP) is separated from the other blood cells. In this plasma are active growth factors, which have a healing, rejuvenating effect on the skin. The plasma is used to inject into the skin. To do this, the doctor uses a very thin needle, and brings the plasma superficially in the scalp.

Of special importance is the use of your own blood. PRP can be used in the treatment of thinning hair, during or after a hair transplant, and for wound healing. Healthy hair follicles create healthy hair. Hair follicles survive through the food they get. By the administration of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to the hair follicles, the natural growth of hair follicles is reinforced. PRP is therefore an innovative, safe and effective method to stimulate hair growth. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is your own blood plasma with a concentrated source of platelets that are rich in growth factors. The growth factors in the plasma stimulate hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin in the skin. It also allows for a stimulation of the stem cells that promotes hair growth.

What do these growth factors do?:

  • Improve thin and damaged hair
  • Improve blood circulation to the hair follicles
  • Promote natural hair growth
  • Stimulate the growth of the hair follicle
  • Make hair follicles healthy and strong
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Have a preventive effect on hair loss

PRP can be used as a treatment for hair loss (alopecia):

To prevent hair loss and to improve the hair. With a hair transplant to improve the survival of grafts (transfer of hair follicles) and to accelerate the healing.

Is it safe?

The treatment is virtually painless, secure and fast. Because you are treated with your own blood, the risk of infection is very small. In addition, many patients like the fact that no chemicals or toxins are injected into their skin, just their own blood.

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend four treatments in the first year. For best results, the treatments should be done in consecutive months. Thereafter, 2 treatments per year will be sufficient.
